Title: Topology-based Explanations for Neural Networks Abstract: The seminar will be a summary of the research activities conducted on the topic of Explainable AI. The first part of the talk will be about the development of Self-Explainable Graph Neural Networks. Successively, the discussion will shift towards providing logic explanations for neural networks' predictions. Finally, different applications will be presented, spanning NLP, Drug Discovery and Reinforcement Learning. BIO: Alessio Ragno is a Ph.D. student in Artificial Intelligence at Sapienza University of Rome, supervised by Professor Roberto Capobianco. With a passion for applying AI to various scientific realms, Alessio focuses on Explainable AI (XAI) to enhance understanding and usability. His research involves creating topology-based XAI methods tailored to specific AI models, aiming to make neural network predictions more interpretable. Prior to his Ph.D., Alessio earned Master's and Bachelor's degrees in AI & Robotics and Computer and Control Engineering, respectively. Alessio gained practical experience in AI's application to chemistry and drug discovery during his time at the University of North Carolina and collaborations with Sapienza University of Rome's Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology Department. Cette année, le séminaire sera centré sur la thématique “Diversité des méthodes de recherches en informatique”. Cette journée offre une opportunité unique aux doctorantes et doctorants évoluant dans le domaine de l’information ou dans des disciplines connexes d’échanger. Les participantes et participants auront l’opportunité de présenter leurs recherches devant leurs collègues du domaine, le tout dans une atmosphère conviviale. Nous avons prévu un séminaire hybride, avec la possibilité pour les participants de se rendre dans un des différents sites locaux où le séminaire sera retransmis en direct (à Paris, Grenoble, Marseille, ...) pour rencontrer d’autres collègues. Nous vous invitons donc dès maintenant à proposer vos soumissions pour cette journée ! Bien à vous, (désolé pour les réceptions multiples) ********************************************************************** Appel à Contributions pour le 14e Atelier sur la Protection de la Vie Privée (APVP’24) 24-27 juin 2024, au domaine Lou Capitelle en Ardèche. https://apvp24.sciencesconf.org/ ********************************************************************** Le 14ème Atelier sur la Protection de la Vie Privée (APVP) aura lieu en Ardèche du 24 au 27 juin 2024 prochain. APVP est l’évènement du GT Protection de la Vie Privée du GDR CNRS Sécurité informatique, il est soutenu par le GDR CNRS Sécurité informatique ainsi que de nombreux autres partenaires. Le but principal de cet atelier est de rassembler les acteurs (chercheur·euse·s, ingénieurs, DPO, juristes, ...) de la communauté francophone dont les travaux portent sur la protection de la vie privée et des données personnelles, et de leur offrir un forum privilégié pour pouvoir présenter et échanger leurs idées sur cette thématique. L'atelier est pluridisciplinaire, et a vocation à rassembler notamment des acteurs en informatique, droit, économie, sociologie et statistiques. L'atelier se déroulera du 24 juin au soir au 27 juin 2024, au domaine Lou Capitelle (https://www.loucapitelle.com/), à 1 heure de Montélimar par train. APVP n’étant pas une conférence au sens traditionnel du terme, la participation à l’atelier est conditionnée à la soumission d’une contribution. Tous les auteur·e·s des contributions acceptées peuvent participer à l’atelier après enregistrement de leur inscription. Nous sollicitons deux types de contributions/participations : - A - Une contribution scientifique. Le comité scientifique encourage la soumission d’articles déjà publiés dans des revues ou des conférences internationales réputées. Dans ce cas, il suffit de soumettre l’article tel quel en mentionnant la conférence/revue où il a été publié et la sélection se fera principalement sur sa pertinence thématique pour APVP. Pour les autres soumissions, comme par exemple un travail en cours, la sélection se fera sur un document de travail de 4 à 10 pages. Chaque contribution sélectionnée donnera lieu à une présentation de 20 minutes, éventuellement sous la forme d'une démonstration, suivie d’un temps pour la discussion. - B - Un projet collaboratif (ANR, Horizon Europe, PIA,…) que les participant·e·s intéressé·e·s pourront présenter en 15 minutes. Session: 'Detection of Complex Attacks through Advanced Learning Models' Conference: KES'2024, the 28th International Conference on Knowledge-Based and Intelligent Information & Engineering Systems When: 11-13 September 2024 Where: Seville, Spain Deadline: 8th April 2024 All information: https://kes-dca.lre.epita.fr/ Submission: http://kes2024.kesinternational.org/easychair.php Scope of Session This session intends to address the next challenges in the coupling of cybersecurity and AI by focusing on a blind spot of detection of complex cybersecurity attacks: the analysis of weak signals and stealthy interactions inside the systems to be protected. Attacks and their countermeasures have grown dramatically more complex with the combination of extensive digital transformation in service and industries, the maturation of both defense and attack software, and the growing pressure of increasing cybersecurity threats. In this context, efficient detection requires a radical refinement of these systems which can no longer be considered as monolithic (or monolithic abstractions). The specificities of the user, machine, operating system, and service levels must be considered, while maintaining a technical control, and a cognitive one for the operator in charge, over the ever-growing heterogeneity. In particular: weak signals, traffic betraying an ongoing APT (advanced Persistent Threat), or attacks against the detection systems easily evade state of the art detectors. Being able to hunt these novel threats necessitates to support the identification of emerging behaviors, tracking the evolution of connections as well as connection patterns, or even making correlations through remote systems. And to do so in an antagonist environment where the adversary does not passively wait to be detected but takes actives steps to evade, lure or exploit the detection systems.
