Patricia Endo nous parlera de ses travaux sur "How can we use Artificial Intelligence in the health area?"
Résumé:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the healthcare sector, presenting significant prospects for the advancement of patient care, the augmentation of medical research, and the optimization of healthcare administration. This talk delves into applications of AI within the healthcare domain, with a particular focus on its role in addressing tropical neglected diseases (NTD). In the context of tropical neglected diseases, AI has emerged as a powerful tool for early detection, diagnosis, and treatment monitoring.
In this tutorial, Professor Patricia Endo will discuss research projects focused on NTDs such as tuberculosis, arboviruses, and leprosy, presenting some low-cost solutions her research group has been developing.
Bio :
Patricia Takako Endo is an Associate Professor at the University of Pernambuco (UPE), working in the Bachelor's degree program in Information Systems - Campus Caruaru, and as a permanent member of the Graduate Program in Computer Engineering (PPGEC) at the Polytechnic School of Pernambuco (POLI/UPE). Currently, she is the Vice-Coordinator of PPGEC Caruaru. She is the lead researcher of the dotLAB Brazil research group at UPE. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Center for Informatics (CIn) at UFPE (2014), a Master's degree in Computer Science from UFPE (2008) in the area of Computer Networks, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Pará (2005). She has experience in the field of Computer Engineering, with emphasis on computer networks, telecommunications, and data science, mainly working on the following topics: network technologies, wireless networks, cloud computing, fog computing, e-health systems, and data science applied to health.

Subject: [FORGE][MAINTENANCE] Interruption planifiée 2024-01-25
Bonjour,
Une maintenance opérée par la DSI du groupe IONIS aura lieu ce jeudi 25
janvier à 19 h 00 pour une durée estimée de 10 minutes. La DSI étant
notre fournisseur de réseau, l’intégralité des services hébergés par la
Forge seront inaccessibles pendant toute la durée de cette maintenance.
Les salles machines seront également hors services au national pendant
ce laps de temps.
Cette maintenance fait suite à l’interruption de service observée ce
lundi 22 janvier à 17 h 10 provoquée par une panne électrique dans un
local technique de la DSI. Afin d’éviter que cet incident se produise de
nouveau, la DSI va installer un onduleur pour protéger les équipements
ayant subi cette panne ce qui nécessite cette courte coupure.

Battista Biggio nous parlera de ses travaux sur "AI Security Testing: Lessons Learned and Open Challenges".
Résumé:
AI security testing has become crucial due to the widespread use of AI-based solutions in safety-critical and security-sensitive systems, and to comply with the emerging regulations. This talk aims to shed light on how to develop practical approaches to evaluate AI security properties in a pragmatic manner. I will discuss the emerging challenges and opportunities in AI security testing, along with the state-of-the-art techniques developed to date. The presentation will describe several security testing methods and explain the related challenges they pose. It will also quickly touch upon novel approaches derived from adversarial machine learning that can help overcome the existing AI security limitations.
Bio :
Battista Biggio (MSc 2006, PhD 2010) is Associate Professor at the University of Cagliari, Italy, and co-founder of the cybersecurity company Pluribus One. He has provided pioneering contributions in machine-learning security, playing a leading role in this field. His seminal paper on “Poisoning Attacks against Support Vector Machines” won the 2022 ICML Test of Time Award. His work on “Wild Patterns” won the 2021 Best Paper Award and Pattern Recognition Medal from Elsevier Pattern Recognition. He has managed several research projects, and regularly serves as a PC member for ICML, NeurIPS, and USENIX Security. He chaired IAPR TC1 (2016-2020), co-organized S+SSPR, AISec and DLS, and served as Associate Editor for IEEE TNNLS, IEEE CIM, and Pattern Recognition. He is a senior member of IEEE and ACM, and a member of IAPR and ELLIS.

2024 sera l'année du regroupement spatial des EC du KB dans deux ailes en vis-à-vis (l'aile ex-LRDE et l'aile ex-Blackfoot). Le déménagement est imminent (d'où l'importance d'avoir vos cartons fin prêts) : le réseau filaire est en cours d'installation, tout comme le nettoyage final. Dans un 2e temps, après le passage de la commission de sécurité, les deux ailes seront réunies (comme de l'autre côté du palier).
Comme vous le savez, en 2024, l'enjeu important qui nous attend est l'évaluation par le Hcéres. Avec vos responsables d'équipe respectifs, nous allons solliciter un petit nombre d'entre vous, qui le voudront bien, sur certaines tâches précises ; vous serez de toute façon tous·tes impliqué·es, car informé·es, pour que vous puissiez suivre l'avancement et donner votre avis.
Vous aviez été nombreux·ses à solliciter une présentation de ma part concernant l'évaluation par le Hcéres. Depuis, l'essentiel à retenir vous a été présenté lors de la plénière d'il y a quelques semaines. Vous pouvez retrouver le support de présentation de la plénière dans le dépôt ECS (pour la partie Hcéres, sur les planches 86 à 95).
Le répertoire "Évaluation de la recherche / Hcéres / Hcéres 2024-2025", dédié à l'évaluation, contient les documents que, à l'occasion de la plénière, je vous ai demandé de lire (le tag "à lire" des planches 90 et 92) :
* le référentiel d'évaluation des unités de recherche
* la trame du rapport d'autoévaluation.
Ils expliquent ce qui est attendu, par le prisme académique, d'une unité de recherche (comme le LRE), de chacune de ses équipes, donc de l'ensemble des EC qui forment une équipe. En particulier, ces attendus sont ceux que vous devez garder en tête, individuellement, pour progresser dans votre/notre métier, vers l'HDR, et au-delà !
Cette présentation sera donc une séance de questions-réponses à propos de l'évaluation et du travail que nous avons à faire. Je vous ai préparé un document collaboratif pour que vous puissiez réfléchir à vos questions et les consigner avant la séance de QA. Cette dernière aura lieu vendredi 2 février matin de 9h à 11h, en bimodal / en salle de convivialité KB4 3e étage au KB. Vous allez recevoir une invitation Outlook et un lien vers le document partagé à remplir.
